Curriculum & Reading

Details of our Curriculum can be found by clicking on the links below, either by year group or by subject. after extensive research and consultation, begun during the academic year 2018-19, we began developing a 'creative curriculum' approach. The plans here are current but undergoing continual review.

Through this and after full discussion with our stakeholders, we decided wanted to develop core learning values in our children . These are: Perseverance, Resilience, Independence, Confidence and Enjoyment (PRICE).

We aim for all our children to 'Best the Best They can Be', whilst they are 'Learning for Life', embedding skills and building on prior learning, finding links between different subjects and knowledge to increase the children's understanding and relevance.

Our main phonics teaching is from a scheme called Read, Write, Inc. (RWI) which was introduced from EYFS in September 2018. We use the Oxford Reading Tree reading scheme and RWI Bookbag books , but supplement this with a range of other books and reading materials.

If you require any further information on our curriculum or how we teach, please contact the school office or click the link below to find out more about how we offer a 'curriculum for all'.
